Blog Redesign

Happy Hump Day!

Plans for redesigning my blog have long been in order; I wanted to wait until I had gained a little more traffic, and acquired a few more readers. I have a lovely little readership now, and I am becoming more and more inspired each day, especially because I am leaving for college next Friday. I thought it was time to take the plunge.

So I did.

I spent about three and a half hours this morning rewriting HTML codes, matching up colors and fonts and adjusting widths and heights of sidebar images. Re-designing a blog is definitely easier said than done, but I am very happy with the finished product, and it is exactly what I had in mind. Simple and clean, but more professional and more me than what I originally had. My first blog design was entirely "homemade", from the font choices to the header image; I did it all. I taught myself HTML coding and held my breath as I imported my Instagram and Pinterest feeds onto my sidebar. I didn't do it because I wanted recognition, I did it because it has always been a dream of mine to have a blog.

So I did it.

I've received so many loving and inspiring comments and my readership has grown tremendously, which is really exciting for me! So I thought I would graduate from my original design, and move on. I will be starting a new life myself, and now so will this blog.

The website I used is Designer Blogs. They have many options for both Blogger and Wordpress, ranging from pre-made Blogger Templates (which is what I started with, seeing as I am a broke college student) to completely custom blog and website designs. I love the range of colors and fonts, and the seemingly endless array of styles. I had absolutely no problem installing the design after I purchased it and the whole process as far as the actual installation took about five minutes. The details are what take the most time.

So there we have it; a brand new blog design and I couldn't be happier! I hope you enjoy it!

  1. It’s only a matter of seconds for an audience to decide whether to stay or leave one’s blog or website. So making it simple, clean, and organized can be quite helpful in engaging them to stay and take a look and see what your website has to offer. And looking at your blog, you definitely achieved just that. Hours of rewriting codes definitely paid off!
