My First Date

[First things first, I want to start by saying that this has been a post long in the making. This date took place the week before I moved to North Dakota and I've just been too distracted to finish it, but here it is finally. Enjoy.]

Last week, I woke up in the middle of the night to a text from my cousin-

Don't make plans Thursday morning, we're going out to breakfast. And you have to wear blue.

I think it's fair to say I've been through a lot this year, especially this summer, and all I really wanted before I moved was to be taken on a proper date. I woke up early and got ready to go,wearing a navy sweater per request. My cousin pulled up and proceeded to hand me a bouquet of fresh flowers. I'm sorry what? A bouquet of flowers. Brb dying.

We drove downtown and parked on a quiet street. We walked into Grace's Table where we were greeted and seated by a little old man who quickly brought us some hot coffee.

The decor is amazing.

What's coffee without cream?

I've been told that I'm only truly laughing when I cover my face.

Trying to look like Audrey.

Apparently this coffee gave me the giggles.

Fresh berry pancakes for her...

Lox and bagels for me.

Insta-worthy.

We then drove out to the country and found a gorgeous vineyard atop a little hill...I asked her what we were doing and she said that we were going to take pictures. But why am I wearing blue? And why are you wearing orange... Because that's what Serena and Blair wore in their photoshoot. (If you get that reference, I love you)

The grapes were absolutely perfect.

And I thought it important to express that fact.

Is this illegal? Oh well, wouldn't be the first time.

Make sure you get my Vineyard Vines' bracelet in the picture.

Hello, Serena van der Woodsen.

Isn't she lovely?

I make the strangest facial expressions.

Oh my gosh there's something on my pants so I'm going to freak out now.

Regaining my composure.

We've got a winner.

YOLO.

It was the perfect day. I couldn't have asked for a better "first date" and it will take a very special man to top it. I love you, prima.

What's your first date story? I'm a hopeless romantic with very little luck, so I love hearing love stories; it's a blessing and a curse.
